Tran Tuan Dung – CEO Chicnchill

Born and raised in rural Vietnam, in a family of weaving artisans, having the image of knitting bamboo and rattan products deeply engraved in his mind, Tran Tuan Dung (Tony Tran) grew a deep love for Vietnamese woven products.

In March 2021, he decided to launch ChicnChill – a brand that sells Vietnam’s handmade home decorations – when the whole world was going through a pandemic period. “When people were locked down at home, the trend of home decorations using natural handmade elements was on the rise, so I saw an opportunity and seized it. All the images of wicker products came flooding back, and I want people around the world to know that Vietnam has beautiful wicker products.” Tony Tran shared.

As a brand that grew from a start-up company, ChicnChill had to face many challenges in terms of finance, human resources, and experience as well as lacking customer and market data. Most of all, they have to compete with many big brands that are already well-known in this category. Undeterred, he was determined to learn, innovate product designs, and actively interact with large foreign enterprises through participation in fairs and trade promotions.

Chic means elegance and Chill is comfort and relaxation since that is what I want to bring to the interior space in every home. With his enthusiasm and creativity, Tony Tran has turned traditional Vietnamese products into valuable exports, in line with the trend of green consumption in the world.
